BASIC MODERN-BALLET FOR ADULTS
FOUR WEEK AND SIX WEEK COURSES
check out our 'ADULT CLASSES' page.

Music & Movement students enter the studio acompanied  by a parent or other adult who will participate to some extent in the class activities.

Ballet A students are unaccompanied in the studio.  Although the program is fun-based and creative it is a structured class and students are expected to be attentive and participate in the group activities.

Ballet B students are welcome to attend classes twice a week.

All full year programs offer 34 weeks of classes.  Holidays and other important information are on our STUDENT HANDBOOK  page.

Students should expect to study for at least two or three years in each level.

Modern Dance technique classes are a wonderful  complement to our Ballet C D & E programs.

Students will reach their greatest potential more quickly if they attend classes frequently, and stretch and practice carefully at home.

"What is modern dance?" is a huge question that we are asked often! Disciplined like ballet, it shares some common elements, but has unique styles and techniques. Modern dance is not lyrical, or jazz, or nightclub dancing. It is a wonderful, expressive form of concert dance.

Our adult classes are inclusive of a wide range of age, ability, and experience.  No, you're not too old, too beginner, or too uncoordinated!

Pointe work appears to be beautiful and effortless when it's done well.  But in actual fact it requires a tremendous amout of strength and a fairly specific anatomy.  Our recommendation is that students should only add pointe to their shedule if they are attending technique  classes three or four days a week.

Felicità is Italian for 'JOY', and the joy of dance, performing or watching, is really what it's all about!

Professional dancers, even at the top of their careers, take class almost every day.  It is important for professional and pre-professional students to do the same in order to properly train their bodies and their minds.

Please note:   The age guidelines listed for all programs are approximate, and students are also placed according to experience, ability, committment, personal goals, and frequency of training.
