PERFORMANCE #185? August 11-13, 2011: Wtih a Festival Grant from the Saint John Community Arts Funding Program and sponsorship from Body Expressions Dancewear, PCDA/F presented dancing bodies & Rondos Out of Proportion Dance. This very successful three-day festival celebrated 15 years of Saint John work by PCDA Resident Choreographer, Georgia Rondos. SummerCompany2011 featured professional dancers and students from the likes of Toronto Dance Theatre, Ecole de Cirque Zôfy (Switzerland), Alvin Ailey School, York U Dance, and The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, as well as apprentices from Saint john area dance schools. The retrospective also included archival film footage from earlier dancing bodies collections, Fries With That, and two of the solos performed by Tara Butler in Dance Images From New brunswick.
The kick off to public portions of the festival were a series of free, outdoor performances in some unexpected uptown locations. Evening performances were held in the PCDA BLACK BOX space.
July, 2011 - Former Felicità member and ROOP dancer, Sinéad Wills, was the guest artist at So You Think You Can Dance Saint John. Sinéad bravely and beautifully performed an excerpt from Georgia Rondos' Gnossiennes on the stage at the Market Square boardwalk.
July 8, 2011: With support from the Manitoba Arts Council & the City of Saint John, Port City Dance Academy & Felicità presented a month long residency with former PCDA student, Liam Caines, currently a company member with Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet. The residency included masterclasses, discussions, a two-week intensive program, and the creaton of three new works.
The final public presentation, dancing bodies - it is what it is, was presented in the BLACK BOX space. The program included two works that Liam created for his Intensive Program students, as well as a superb Black Swan variation, and a remarkable community collaboration that was collected, created, and aranged by the dynamic Caines-McKinney duo. The community collaboration, called What It Is, essentially drew inspiration from public input that was received from a variety of sources. A bunch of seemingly random ideas; conceptual, choreographic, and literal. were amazingly formulated into a coherent and extremely interesting work –danced beautifully by Liam Caines.

Saturday, April 23, 2011 - Port City Dance Academy & Felicità presented a very special performance, dancing bodies - coming & going, in the BLACK BOX, to recognize Tara Butler's illustrious career with Ballet Jorgen Canada, and to celebrate her contribution to the dance community and the arts community in Saint John. Canada's beloved ballerina is now PCDA's first Honourary Board Member!
December, 2010 - PCDA/F presented the seventh annual December In-Studio show, although, officially it was the first annual Winter BLACK BOX Concert. (The first Winter In-Studio Show, held at the Gothic Arches, was the Modern Class Presentation in December 2004).
November 27/28, 2010 - The Nutcrack & The Girl With The Shell was presented by pcda/f at Théàtre Louis Vermeersch. Our original adaptation of the traditional Christmas classic draws inspiration from local visual artists for some of its characters, costumes, and storyline.
November 20, 2010 - Students and friends of Port City Dance Academy dazzled the crowds lining Saint John streets at the Santa Claus Parade. Incidentally, PCDA won first place in the 'Churches and Organizations' category!
November 17, 2010 - Members of Felicità performed mixed repertoire for the Market Square Fashion Show.
November 6, 2010 - Members of Felicità performed at the new cruiseship terminal in Ovation, a gala event presented by the Greater Saint John Community Foundation.
August 14, 2010 - To officially celebrate The City of Saint John's 225th birthday, PCDA/F presented dancing bodies - reunion 2010, featuring the premier of Georgia Rondos' One Woman One Potato, performed by Lucy May of Compagnie Marie Chouinard.
The wonderful classes and performance, held in the BLACK BOX, and the overall success of this unofficial Summer Company and summer dance festival was a catalyst for exciting new developments.
August 7, 2010 - On the fringe of the Saint John 225 celebration of music, PCDA/F worked in close collaboration with Debbie Adshade to present a further development of intriguing work in progress, Qualities, in the BLACK BOX.
August, 2010 - Presented by Rondos Out Of Proportion as part of the Saint John 225 festivities, dancers Jane Alison McKinney and Natayu Mildenberg gave free outdoor, uptown performances of Georgia Rondos' Ballerina & Clown.
June, 2010 - Felicità member, Hannah Wallace, performed for the IWK Telethon on a small, rainy outdoor stage on the boardwalk at Market Square.
June 10, 2010 - Port City Dance Academy and Artistic Director, Andrea Scott were nominated for "Original" awards at the first Saint John Arts Awards Gala.
Andrea Scott and Georgia Rondos were honoured to have been invited to present the special tribute to Fred and Sheila Ross as they were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award. Andrea Scott, with past and present members of Port City Dance Academy & Felicità and with other former students of sheila Ross, presented the tribute to Sheila; performing an excerpt from Sheila's Dance Movements From Bach. Georgia Rondos (Rondos OOP Dance Co.) presented the tribute to Fred, specially choreographed for the occasion. A memorable evening and a beautiful opportunity!
