2012 STUDENT INFORMATION FOR
The Nutcracker & The Girl With The Shell
To PCDA 2012 Nutcracker students & parents,
As you know, our Nutcracker shows will be supporting local medical research of Foundation Glycosylation. Before we can donate any funds, though, we have to cover our expenses… like studio rehearsal time, theatre rental and other theatre costs, costs associated with guest artists and our own teachers & choreographers, sets & costumes, newspaper ads and other promotional material, etc…
Your student participation fees ($40 per student) will help to cover a fraction of the expenses, but this year we would like to waive the student participation fee for anyone who sells at least 10 tickets (just let us know which day and how many) OR anyone who can sell a new programme ad (please ask for an advertising information sheet if you need one).
We also need lots of help with:
-
Promotion. Once the info is available electronically, please post the information on your facebook page, website, etc. and email information to all of your contacts. That is a good way for us to reach a lot of potential audience members. We will also have flyers that you can post at school, church, work, etc. (Also, please be sure to join the ”Port City Dance Academy / Felicita Facebook group, and visit the Port City Dance Academy website from time to time).
-
Ticket sales. Sat Nov 17 8pm and Sun Nov 18 2pm. $10 and $20. Tickets will be available at a few locations (check for them on the website, www.PortCityDanceAcademy.org) or we can give you tickets to sell to your family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, etc – we just need to know which show and how many to give you.
We also have a volunteer committee that helps with organizing and promoting, production items that happen in advance and on show days – we still need more volunteers! If you would like to join the Nutcracker Committee and haven’t already done so, please speak to Christine Bamford (Tina).
